Activity 3A: Scattergrams by Hand

Pass out a copy of the “Scattergrams” worksheet to each student. Lead the students through a reading and discussion of scattergrams. You may wish to have students record the definitions of the bold-faced terms. The second portion of the worksheet calls for students to create their own scattergram using the data from the “Sample Data Set.” Be sure that students have a copy of this data as well as a ruler.
