Have students bring in one object that sparks a memory for them. (Students may be allowed to draw a picture of the object if they are unable to bring it to school.) Have the students complete the following writing assignment: Write a composition on a personal memory that is triggered by a certain object. Be sure to describe how that memory makes you feel and why it is an important memory for you. Students should read their responses in small groups or in front of the whole class while the audience examines the object they brought.
