Activity 6A: Older Friend Panel Discussion

Students may wish to invite older friends to present to the class on an individual basis or in panel format. Have students generate a list of things they would like to know more about and generate a list of topics or questions for the new friends. Teachers may select to include topics based on the interviews. Be sure that the senior guests have the questions beforehand and are comfortable with the topics. The format, time frame, and meeting place need to be established ahead of time. Questions and topics may be obtained from the Interview Questions, or better yet, students may contemplate additional questions and topics they would like to know more about.
