Activity Description

Now have the students use the same data (Sample Data Set) to find the median of the two sets. Remind the students that to find the median they must put the scores in order from least to greatest and then find the middle number. If there are two middle number, which in this case there will be, instruct the students to average the two numbers. The answer they get is the median. Instruct the students to record the answer on the worksheet. Have the students analyze their two answers. Are the medians the same? Why or why not?
